World Wrestling Entertainment 2008… Wrestlemania XXIV ResultsWrestlemania Began with the 24 Man Battle Royal with the winner facing Chavo Guerrero for the Title later on in the night, it was a good battle Royal that was Highlighted by the return of Rob Van Dam who last eliminated Kane to become Number One Contender to the Title. Then was the annual 8 Man Money In The Bank Ladder Match, Jeff Hardy was scheduled to compete but was taken out of the match due to violating the substance abuse and drug testing policy. It was a very fast paced match which featured MVP, Mr Kennedy, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Jericho, Carlito, CM Punk and John Morrison. It was a great fast paced match, everyone gave their all and the match seemed to be over when MVP climbed to the top but Matt Hardy came from out of nowhere and knocked him off the ladder, Mr Kennedy then took full advantage climbing the ladder and winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match which guaranteed him a World Title shot anytime within the next year. ‘The Animal’ Batista then overcame the odds when he successfully defeated ‘The Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga after a Batista Bomb; Batista celebrated his victory much to the fans delight. Finlay then defeated JBL in a Belfast Brawl despite interference from Shane and Vince McMahon. Next up Rob Van Dam defeated Chavo Guerrero in an Extreme Rules Match to become the ECW Champion once again, RVD defeated Chavo after a Five Star Frogsplash through a Table! The Big Show then took on and defeated Floyd Mayweather in a relatively good match, The Big Show had proved his dominance on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Maria and Candice won the Playboy Bunny Tag Team Contest. Next up was the legendary encounter as ‘The Nature Boy’ took on ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ in a legendary match, it was Ric Flair who would come out on top forcing Shawn Michaels to tap out with a Figure Four Leg Lock, the two then shook hands and embraced in a hug, Flair then announced his retirement as a video package played showing some of the greatest moments of ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair! Up next was The Undertaker going one on one with ‘The Rated R Superstar’ Edge, the ending came when ‘The Deadman’ continued his legendary streak to 16-0 after nailing Edge with a Tombstone Piledriver. Taker then celebrated with the World Championship, Edge walked up the ramp with an angry look on his face as The Undertaker celebrated with the Championship. In the Main Event John Cena, Triple H and Randy Orton went head to head in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship, it was a great match that finished with a shocking ending. Triple H lay in the corner of the ring after suffering an FU as John Cena prepared to give Randy Orton and FU, suddenly Vince McMahon ran up the ramp with a Sledgehammer sliding it to the game, who nailed Cena right in the skull as Vince distracted the ref, Triple H then nailed Cena with a pedigree for the 1...2...3 to become Champion, Vince McMahon and Triple H Celebrated as Wrestlemania came to a close... The King Of Kings had returned to his throne... And now, the Backlash Begins…

Monday Night Raw PreviewLast night at Wrestlemania XXIV, ‘The Game’ Triple H aligned himself with Vince McMahon, tonight on Raw Triple H will explain why he aligned himself with McMahon, but what will John Cena have to say about Vince McMahon and Triple H screwing him out of the WWE Championship? Also on Raw, Santino Marella and Carlito will challenge Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly for the Tag Team Championships in tag team action. Also Chris Jericho fell short in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match, on Raw ‘Y2J’ will defend his Intercontinental Title. Will ‘Y2J’ successfully defend the IC Title or will Jericho’s string of bad luck continue?

Monday Night Raw
Raw Kicked off with a video package what happened when Triple H aligned himself with Vince McMahon to become the WWE Champion. Raw began with Vince McMahon and Triple H coming to the arena with the WWE Title slung over ‘The King Of Kings’ shoulder as the fans booed, Triple H snatched a microphone from ringside before sliding in the ring. Triple H cut a promo about how he said that he would leave Wrestlemania with the title and he did, he talked about how ever since Mania people had talked about him ‘Selling his soul to the devil’ but HHH said that what he did at Wrestlemania was what he said he would do, defeat John Cena and Randy Orton to become Champion. HHH then started to insult John Cena saying that he was good but as long as ‘The Game’ was around he would always be second best, eventually though John Cena came out to the delight of the crowd. Cena said that Triple H and Vince McMahon cheated him out of what was rightfully his, and Cena said that he wouldn’t rest until he got it back, before challenging Triple H to a match at Backlash. Vince said that if Cena wanted a Title Match at Backlash he would have to earn it, he said that if Cena could defeat Randy Orton later in the night he would give him a Title Match at Backlash. Tag Team Championships- Santino Marella and Carlito v Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly ©This was a good opening match, Marella and Carlito took the early advantage isolating Rhodes but eventually Rhodes managed to take down Carlito and Marella and make the Tag to Holly, Holly took the advantage for a few minutes, but Carlito and Santino regained the advantage and Carlito pinned Hollly after a Backstabber to win the Tag Team Titles. Winners- Carlito and Santino MarellaThe Camera cut to the back where Mr Kennedy was standing with the Money in the Bank Briefcase, Kennedy said that unlike last year Kennedy would keep hold of the Briefcase and go on to win the WWE Title… When you least expect it.
Singles Match- Melina v MariaThis was a pretty poor, quick Womens Match, Maria got the victory in a short match, nothing that exciting. Winner- Maria
A Promo aired hyping the John Cena v Randy Orton match later in the night.
Intercontinental Title- Chris Jericho © v Paul BurchillThis was a pretty good IC title Match, Jericho controlled the majority of the match, Burchill tried to cheat to get the victory whenever possible but Jericho always saw it coming. Jericho got the victory after locking in the Walls of Jericho, Burchill tried to get to the rope but eventually had to tap out. Winner- Chris JerichoAll of a sudden ‘Y2J’ was attacked by Mr Kennedy who nailed him in the back with the Money in the Bank Briefcase, Kennedy then held the Intercontinental Title and Money in the Bank Briefcase over the fallen body of Jericho as the camera cut to the back. Shawn Michaels talked about his legendary match with Ric Flair at Wrestlemania talking about how it was an honour to go one on one with ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair on the grandest stage of them all. Shawn said that last night he put on one of the greatest matches of his entire career. He talked about the career of Ric Flair, before saying that tonight he will go out their and steal the show just like he and Ric Flair did at Wrestlemania.
Singles Match- Umaga v Shawn MichaelsThis was a fantastic match, both gave it their all in a fantastic match, the ending came when Shawn ducked a Samoan Spike and went for a Superkick but Umaga ducked it and nailed him with a Samoan Spike for the 1…2…3 Winner- UmagaJohn Cena cut a promo promising he will defeat Randy Orton tonight and that he will reclaim what is right fully his at Backlash. Randy Orton v John CenaThis was a good match that was given quite a bit of time, both went back and fourth in a good match with a bad ending, Cena picked up the win but not the way he wanted, Orton, HHH and Vince attacked Cena with a sledgehammer to give John the DQ Victory, the three men continued the beat down as Raw went off the air but John Cena will challenge Triple H for the Title at Backlash. Winner- John Cena

Extreme Championship Wrestling on Sci-Fi Preview
At Wrestlemania XXIV, Rob Van Dam shocked the world when he returned to the WWE and won the ECW Championship, tonight however Rob will be involved in a Non-Title Match when he takes on Shelton Benjamin, what will happen when these two energetic superstars go head to head?
Also tonight on ECW Tommy Dreamer and Colin Delaney will take on John Morrison and The Miz with the tag team titles on the line, will Dreamer and Delaney capture the Tag Titles or will The Miz and John Morrison retain the gold?
Also on ECW a 10 Man Battle Royal will take place to find a number one contender to Rob Van Dam’s title at Backlash, the Battle Royal including Chavo Guerrero, CM Punk, Big Daddy V, Kofi Kingston and Elijah Burke.

Extreme Championship Wrestling
ECW opened with a Video recapping Rob Van Dam returning and winning both the Battle Royal and ECW Title at Wrestlemania XXIV. ECW began with ‘Mr. ECW’ Rob Van Dam making his way to the ring with the ECW Championship over his shoulder, the ECW Fans chanting ‘RVD… RVD!’ RVD thanked the fans he talked about his return and how he had been watching for weeks as ECW had gone downhill, RVD said that he had come back to bring the ‘Extreme’ back into ECW! RVD said that tonight his match with Shelton Benjamin will be an Extreme Rules Match and that in the next few weeks we will see the return of ‘Extreme’ Championship Wrestling! WWE Tag Team Championships- John Morrison and The Miz v Tommy Dreamer and Colin DelaneyThis was a great opening Tag match, both teams gave it their all in a good match that eventually saw John Morrison pin Colin Delaney after a moonsault. Morrison and The Miz celebrated with the Tag Team Titles. Winners- John Morrison and The MizThe camera cut to the back where Chavo Guerrero was standing, Guerrero said that Van Dam’s win was a fluke and that tonight he would win the Battle Royal and go on to take back his ECW Championship at Backlash. 10 Man Battle Royal- Number 1 Contender MatchThis was a good match which featured, CM Punk, Elijah Burke, Big Daddy V, Stevie Richards, Chavo Guerrero, Kofi Kingston, Nunzio, John Morrison, Kevin Thorn and The Miz, the Final two men where CM Punk and Elijah Burke after Punk had eliminated Chavo, the two went back and fourth, shot after shot with Elijah Burke eventually managing to throw CM Punk over the rope and to the floor to become Number One Contender to the ECW Title at Backlash Winner- Elijah BurkeBackstage Shelton Benjamin cut a promo saying that tonight he will defeat RVD and when his time comes he will become the ECW World Heavyweight Champion. A Backlash Promo Video aired hyping the Elijah Burke v Rob Van Dam and Triple H v John Cena Matches. Extreme Rules- Rob Van Dam v Shelton BenjaminThis was a fantastic fast paced match that saw Rob Van Dam defeat Shelton Benjamin in a Non-Title Match, the ending came after RVD hit a Five Star Frogsplash off the top of a Ladder and through a table to Shelton Benjamin for the 1…2…3 Victory. Friday Night Smackdown PreviewAt Wrestlemania The Undertaker won the World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Edge, however on Smackdown Vickie Guerrero and Edge have an announcement to make regarding the World Heavyweight Title Match at Backlash! Also on Smackdown, at Wrestlemania XXIV Batista successfully defeated ‘The Samoan Bulldozer’ Umaga, On Smackdown ‘The Animal’ Batista will take on Chavo Guerrero, will ‘The Animal’s’ Run of Good Luck continue? Also on Smackdown, the new World heavyweight Champion, The Undertaker will team with Matt Hardy to take on MVP and Edge in Tag Team Action. What will happen when these two teams collide?

Great so far. Loved Wrestlemania, RVD's return was great. Raw was good too, especially Jericho/Burchill and the main event. ECW was great too. You got a nice show going, man.
